The client operates a thermoplastic vulcanisate production facility in South Wales, housing several world-scale extrusion-based lines. With increasing global demand for these high-performance products, the client undertook a significant expansion of their manufacturing capabilities. The detailed design of the expansion was managed by a UK-based design house under the oversight of the client’s engineering team. The goal was to deliver additional capacity while maintaining cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Engsolve provided integrated process, chemical, and project engineering support as part of the site-based manufacturing team. This team played a critical role within the client’s wider engineering effort, ensuring the detailed design addressed operational requirements and leveraged experience from both the South Wales site and other global facilities.
A key focus was ensuring compatibility with existing utility systems to limit capital expenditure. Engsolve led the development of a new solids transfer system to meet the required throughput capacity—an area that posed potential constraints if not redesigned. In addition, Engsolve supported both pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, contributing to a smooth project delivery and early operational success.
